Limbach 80hp vs Lycoming 90hp how do they compare

I'm really interested to hear your thoughts on the 80hp, 140lbs Limbach engines compared to the 90hp 4-cylinder Lycoming ones. Have any of you had the chance to try out both, or do you have any insights about how they stack up in terms of performance, reliability, and weight? I'd love to know what you think

I tried both before, and here's what I think: Lycoming is more power, heavier, legendary reliability, excellent parts and support.
but Limbach is lighter, but less power, more niche, parts/support can be harder to find.
It really comes down to whether weight savings is your absolute top priority, or if proven reliability and widespread support win out for you

Does anyone else think the extra 10hp from the Lycoming is worth the added weight and complexity, especially if the Limbach gives decent climb and burns less fuel? Where do you draw that line in light aircraft?

@airglidepilot The biggest difference is weight. The Lycoming O-200 is a classic and reliable engine, but it's a good bit heavier than the Limbach.
For an airframe where every pound matters, the Limbach's 140lbs is a huge advantage.
While the Lycoming has 10 more horsepower, the Limbach's better power to weight ratio could mean better climb performance in a lighter airframe.
It's a trade off, but for a motorglider or light sport plane, the Limbach is often the clear winner
