I think that the title is clear. I want to get an airboat and it would be my first one, so I'd like someone to explain everything I need to know abotut it. Things to check, best payment options, what to service, how to store, stuff like that

I think one of the first things to consider is if you're buying a new one or a used airboat.
New offers customization and warranty, but comes with a higher price.
Used can be a great value, but requires more careful inspection.
Payment options involve marine lenders, banks, credit unions and with some manufacturers offering in-house financing but your options also depend if you're getting a new or used one.
Regular maintenance is key, but again, the extent of servicing varies significantly between new and used boats.
Then as for storage, the best practice is keeping your airboat in a dry place, out of direct sun, and use a quality cover.
After use, especially in saltwater, clean it thoroughly to prevent corrosion!!

"Getting a mentor with years of airboat experience is the best way to learn. If that's not possible, dive into all the info you can find here and talk to as many airboaters as possible."

Best advice ive heard.

Truth is, too many people jump into airboats without a clue and end up hating them or worse, breaking stuff. If you're not ready to wrench, store, and respect the power, don't buy one yet
